Last week, I said, “Come up with a title.”
And you did. Over 400 of them.
Now, your job is to go into the comments section of that post and find a title you like. Then, write a story (under 2,000 words, we’ll say) to fit that title. Please do not choose a title you came up with. The challenge is to pick up something new!
You have one week — due by Friday, October 2nd.
Post the story on your online space and link to it in the comments below.
Please give credit to the person who came up with your title. Credit is good.
Go. Pick. Write. Enjoy!

I chose “Trailing Clouds of Glory” by mat.
Enjoyed writing something of this length though I wish I could have told more of the story behind some of these characters. Can’t wait to read what everyone else has written.

Lovely work. The way you use the dialog to keep it tense, terse, and tight…that really works. (Sorry if this is a duplicate-nothing I’ve posted lately has shown up and it doesn’t look like the Moderation Black Hole)
I picked “A Message From Her”

“The Adjustment” (Title supplied by Nike Wind) : https://theupstartcrowsnest.wordpress.com/2015/09/26/the-adjustment-a-flash-fiction-story/
I wish there was more to this one. But I’m not sure I want to know what the blonde was laughing about either. Fun story.
I chose “An Infinity of Stevens” — the brainchild of a certain Pavowski. Who knows? I don’t think it’s done quite yet. I’d like to find Steven.

whoops. my cluelessness regarding technology strikes again. here’s the correct link. https://camilleinwonderland.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/an-infinity-of-stevens-a-terribleminds-flash-fiction/
Wow. I expected something Sci-Fi but you went straight for True Life here. I loved the written letter style of prose you used. Definitely allows the reader to feel like the narrator experiencing all of these Stevens. Also kind of makes me wonder if anyone sees Carlos an infinite number of different ways…
Thank you so much! I didn’t know exactly where I wanted it to go, but I’m glad someone gets the vision in general!
title credit goes to Pleasant Street – https://geletilari.wordpress.com
Here is my story for the title I Ate All the Cake- http://aliceekeyes.blogspot.com/p/i-ate-all-cake-i-chose-this-title-out.html
I liked this. Cute story that offered enough about the protagonist to keep me interested in seeing where things went for her. When I saw the title “I Ate All The Cake” posted, I wondered if it would be a children’s story. But this was just as sweet even if it lacked that innocence.
I went with Lola’s “Improbable Sunday.” Not at all certain if this is what she had in mind…

Such great vignettes for this title. Really enjoyed your writing style in this one. The way the sentences just kept on with more detail, more description, but never losing focus. Read like someone telling the most improbable story, so excellent job keeping within the title. I like the direction you took it.
Thank you very much. I was reading Peter Heller’s The Dog Stars when I wrote it, and I think some of his sentence structure bled over in mine. (Sorry if this is a duplicate-nothing I’ve posted lately has shown up and it doesn’t look like the Moderation Black Hole)
Terrific on a lot of levels. Rita being lovely was a neat detail.
Thank you very much! As an old fan, it’s almost impossible for me to write the name “Rita” without “lovely” appearing somewhere nearby. (Sorry if this is a duplicate-nothing I’ve posted lately has shown up and it doesn’t look like the Moderation Black Hole)
This title was from Joy B. Tobin, ‘The Gospel According to Saint Cuervo’. Hope they like the use of the title!

I’m working on the story for another title and am trying to find the time to finish, as today’s the day. My question is, do we have a cut-off time after which we won’t be able to post links to a new story?
Yeah. I’m late, I know. But unfortunate events meant I couldn’t finish this on time. It’s my first flash fiction challenge, however, and I was determined to get it up! So, better late than never, here we are:
I chose the title Falling Flames, which was created by the Princess of Dragons.

Nice story!
[…] foray into short story writing in almost a decade. That’s why it’s also a little late. The flash fiction challenge set by Chuck Wendig on Terribleminds was supposed to be posted by 2 October. Alas, I’ve missed the boat, but here it is anyway. My chosen title was WriteFirster’s “Stuck […]
A little late, apologies! I used WriterFirster’s “Stuck In A Hole” – https://dontwanttowrite.wordpress.com/2015/10/04/flash-fiction-challenge-stuck-in-a-hole/
