I have Yeats on the mind, today, so we return to the flash fiction challenges (hi! back from traveling!) with you writing a story based on that central theme of Yeats’ poem, The Second Coming, meaning this gem right here:
“Things fall apart; the center cannot hold.”
You will take this core idea, this theme, this argument.
You will write it into some flash fiction.
Length: ~1000 words.
Due by: November 3rd, noon EST (Friday).
Post at your online space. Link to it in the comments.

*raises hand excitedly* “Ooh…Ooh.. I’ve got one!” ——>>https://atcrump.com/2017/10/27/breeds/ <<<—– I think that's it's good timing. Enjoy! Thanks Chuck!
“I knew my body would fall apart in time,” he said, “but I didn’t know it, you know what I mean?”
I’ve based this piece on my unit complex… and one of my neighbours (name is changed there).
[…] wrote this poem years ago for my critique group buddies but when I saw it fit the latest of Chuck Wendig’s weekly writing challenges, I couldn’t resist posting it […]
Mine’s a poem, with a video too, a bit tongue-in-cheeky. Enjoy! http://www.maajawentz.com/2017/10/28/coming-second-after-w-b-yeats/

[…] Challenge, but one popped up on Friday, so here I am, back again. The challenge this week is Things Fall Apart, The Center Cannot Hold. Good old Yeats. He’s always so optimistic! Anyway, I wrote an equally optimistic story […]
I didn’t want to be cliched so I tried to make a story that wasn’t sad, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Please to enjoy “Center” anyway.
This is my response to the appealing prompt: https://wordpress.com/post/kim153.wordpress.com/6939
Back from a long break, and loving writing again! Not 100% on prompt, but it was inspired by the feel of the poem.

It’s always better to write than deal with that reality stuff. http://www.theglitterglobe.com/2017/11/lilys-bitchy-epiphanya-bitch-witch.html
After one week without ideas, I’ve finally come up with a story about space pirates. And the start of a revenge.

Yikes, coming in late on this one– the first signs of a coup d’etat in the trade-hub capital of a quickly eroding empire.
