Last week’s challenge: Yet Fate Choose Your Title
This week:
I want you to write 500 words of a story.
But — and this is key — do not finish the story.
Write an enticing, compelling tale that fails to end.
Then, next week, someone else will finish your story.
So: write 500 words. End it in a way that makes people wanna keep reading.
You’ve got one week. Due by next Friday, noon EST.
Post it at your blog.
Link here so we can all read it.
AND GO.

Hijacking complete. “Clank” continues here.

I’d also like to point out how bizarre it feels continuing another author’s story. I feel really nervous that I’ve screwed it up. Hope you like it, Clay!

I couldn’t figure out how to post on your blog… This has an almost erotic theme to it. I had read it expecting something supernatural, but towards the end I reread it with erotica in mind.

Tumblr limits direct replies until a certain timeframe of following, but you can send anything via my askbox at http://apromptripost.com/ask . Thanks, by the way! It’s kind of both, though I kept the genre lock-in to a minimum. Wanted to give my dance partner some room to play with.
September 5, 2014 — 10:04 PM
Adan Ramie says:
I’m not sure I like what I wrote this week. It’s sort of sci-fi, which I normally am not very comfortable writing. Nevertheless, here’s “Elementals”:

That surprises me, because you love reading sci-fi. Great beginning, Adan.
September 5, 2014 — 11:26 PM
Adan Ramie says:
You know, I find that what I write and what I read are often not even in the same orbit. I think it helps, especially when I’m writing a gritty murder drama and reading a light-hearted romcom. Keeps me sane… and out of the ReadCopy loop.

Wow, dude, found your website this AM searching for article on POV. Really useful content and I get what you’re writing right away. I like your style, just not so into horror myself. I’d probably just sound stupid if I tried to write like you. See, I’m doing it now. In any case, I’m game for a word game. I hope this is not cheating, but I brushed up something that I think has some potential, and it would be helpful to see what someone else did with it.

Wow, there is so much here. I’d like to write the middle 500 words of this one for this week’s challenge. Your characters are very real. I like reading you.

By all means, use it. I’d love to find out just what the hell is down there. Glad to hear that it resonates with you!

English is my second language too, so I know how you feel, but your English is excellent in this. And I love the Twilight Zone vibe of it.

My muse was kind to me this week, and I was quite pleased with where she led me. If someone next week would be so kind as to tell me what I’ve gotten this “lady” into…

I totally forgot! So now it’s an unpolished first half of a story. Be warned, it’s probably bad with many errors.

A little late to this party–hope you all didn’t run out of booze? Here’s my response. The set up is for a sci-fi story, but I think it could go any direction at this point:
