AND WE HAVE OUR WINNER. IT IS KRISTEN SULLIVAN — AKA, “THE RUSSIAN.” SHE WINS ALL. BIG BASKET OF BOOKS COMING HER WAY. HUZZAH AND HOORAY CAPSLOCK WHEE.
YOU MAY ALL GO HOME NOW.
Wait! Wait, shit, no, don’t go — hold on. Hold on.
We’ve got 25 other entries.
You should click here to see the whole set.
Because, by golly, I want to give away more books. That set has so many rad options it was genuinely hard to pick. I mean, it has stab wounds. It has my doppelganger. It has children on toilets. It has cosplay. THESE PICTURES HAVE EVERYTHING.
I want you to look through that set and then go to the comments below and vote for your favorite. Just list the photo # (with or without the title added is fine).
Vote for just one.
The top two photos in terms of votes will get:
A signed copy of Unclean Spirits.
And a signed copy of the Polish version of Blackbirds.
Voting is open until noon EST tomorrow — June 7th, Friday.
Go. Gaze. Vote!
Again, the link to the set:
The Blue Blazes Contest Photos.
And congrats to Kristin, who boldly and violently embodies both Nora “Persephone” Pearl and also any number of the Get-Em-Girls roller derby gang from the book.
Thanks to everyone else for participating!
EDIT:
VOTING IS CLOSED.
*does a quick tally*
Holy crap, far and away the favorite was THE BLUE BLAZES :FOR KIDS —
And then second up, we’ve got my DOPPELGANGER!
So, Melanie and Cameron Meadors — you two should hit me up for The Doppelganger photo, and Derrick Eaves, you and your children have truly won the day, so winners should hit me up at terribleminds at gmail dot com. You people are awesome. Well done.
Katelyn Phillips (@BookArista) says:
#23!! Plus, you should probably get that clone back to the lab at some point.

Catherine Scully (@CatMScully) says:
(#19) Motorcycle man. All the way. That shot is both impossible and amazing.

(I edited your comment to include the photo #!)
I ASSUME that the photo is actually Photoshopped that way — blur filter or some such. I hope, at least. 🙂

DisastrousCreations says:
I was moving, just not as fast as the blur would suggest. I did Photoshop it as Chuck mentioned, reducing clutter and making the book stand out more. Glad you liked it! No Gobos were harmed in the making of my entry.

Yob-Sodoff says:
“No Gobbos were harmed in the making of my entry.”
That counts against you!

Peter Hentges (@theJBRU) says:
Excellent entries! My vote is going for #12, “The Blue Blazes: For Kids!” because I’m all about corrupting youth. (Though I do have a soft spot for the corgi in #10 and appreciate the hellishness of “The Snakeface Rises.”)
June 6, 2013 — 11:03 AM
Casz Brewster says:
#2 & #12; because getting children to cooperate in photo shoots is near godliness.
June 6, 2013 — 11:05 AM
Lee says:
I found it *very* difficult picking a single winner. 12 and 19 were pretty much tied. I love the action of 19, but as a father whose job it is to find new and exciting ways to traumatise my children, I’m going with number 12.
June 6, 2013 — 11:06 AM
Keith says:
GIVE THE BOOKS TO THE CORGI!!!

I was hoping you would release all these photos, some really great. I expected more freakishness, though .-)

June 6, 2013 — 11:20 AM
michellewillms2013 says:
Definitely #15; I love the peaceful setting and the fact the dogs are involved in the reading. There are no wild children (though I love reading to my children, don’t get me wrong…), just something about this one I like…my other favorite was the late entry.
June 6, 2013 — 11:23 AM
Matt Allen (@mattallenbooks) says:

The last entry, Snakeface Also Rises just for the flames alone. That man deserves more books.

I absolutely love #12, if just for the expressions. Although #2 is a close second.
That might be the hormones. I might be baby crazy.
Also, ALL THE BOOKS! I can’t even say how excited I am to get my hands on the first Heartland book.
June 6, 2013 — 12:05 PM

Tossup between 23 6 & 9. #9 is my pick. Lots of good ideas, especially getting the kids in on it.
June 6, 2013 — 3:49 PM
freda johnson says:
Thanks for including 6 in your list – I didn’t want to vote for myself. 🙂
June 7, 2013 — 10:08 AM
The Liz says:
Selfishly, I want to vote for myself, b/c Kristen already won, so she doesn’t need any votes. 😉
But #19 is pretty freakin cool.
Also, just so you know, Chuck, I have a bunch of related shots with and without the crow if you want more. 🙂 (Mine was #8 for everyone else.)
