See that picture?
There’s your flash fiction inspirado right there.
Once again, you have 1000 words and one week.
Any genre will do.
Don’t forget to drop a link to your story in the comments below.
It’s time to grab a pen and whip open your trenchcoat — flash fiction style.
(Am I right in assuming that you guys are digging these challenges? I hope so. Yell at me if you grow weary of it — though I can’t lie and say I’m not enjoying the breadth and depth of the fiction that ends up here.)

Anthony Laffan says:
Oooh, nice prompt. Might take me a bit to select an idea. Course, last time I chose an idea and then wrote something else entirely….
On a totally honest note. Loving the challenges. “Easy” to get done (just 1k words), but really helps shake loose the creativity since an open ended prompt is given. I’ve found I’ve been writing, and wanting to write, more in general since you started these. So yeah, keep ’em coming.

Wow! That is an awesome picture! Considering I just stumbled into the last challenge, can I get a Hell Yeah that I will be joining in on this one, too. You are nurturing my freaky-paranormal-loving-horror side.

Alright. 958 words later, I give you “Eat. Prey. Love.” (Not sure I’m happy with this as it stands, but like Dan and CY, I feel “flash” as a write it, do a quick edit job and walk away. Therein lies the challenge. Enjoy!

Julia Madeleine says:
Oh I like this one Chuck! Reminds me of a creepy experience I had staying in a NYC hotel a couple of years ago. I actually had to change rooms at 3am it was so weird. I was thinking how it would make a good story but I never did write it. I’ll see if I can pull it out of my twisted little brain for this :o)

Nice one — and nice picture.
Thanks. Why not keep these going?
March 12, 2011 — 3:36 PM
Julia Madeleine says:
Ok so I completely lied about the shining…ha, ha. But I did write a ghost-type story. I used a different picture if that’s okay. It’s the actual hotel where my story takes place. You can find my story here: http://juliamadeleineauthor.blogspot.com/
Thanks Chuck. This is lots of fun. I’ll check out everyone else’s stories over the weekend :o)

Also, also am enjoying these challenges a whole lot, which I think I already mentioned last time, but I figure it bears repeating.
