Hey!
Guess what?
I have COVID, of the 2019 vintage but blended with a soupcon of whatever the latest variant/subvariant combination is. As I just returned from overseas, I like to think it’s a fancy European variant — the Champagne to America’s sparkling COVID. Bubbly and effervescent. And such terroir.
Point is, I’m a little down for the count at present — feeling mostly okay, have the Paxlovid (which is to say, my mouth tastes of hairspray and robot ass), but the rest of the family has it too, so we’re hunkering down. If you need something from me at present, you are unlikely to get it.
More as I know it!
Bye!

That sucks! To paraphrase Michael Corleone, just when we think we’re done, it pulls us back in!
Wishing all a speedy and full recovery!

Oh, so sorry. I did every god damn thing right; thought I was in the clear but nooooo. Late April I couldn’t walk to the bathroom and back without nearly passing out. Plus 3 broke ribs from a fall bc COVID BRAIN. Yeah, that Paxlovid it a great way to lose a scary amount of weight — there is just no eating. BUT EAT lol. I’ll be thinking of you and the kid and wife. Hang in, it eventually *does* get better.

Good luck and best wishes Chuck. Take the Paxlovid! I wouldn’t be here talking to you if I hadn’t gotten that when I came down with this shitty virus in June. Three years I keep myself “socially isolated” to protect my late wife (she exacped Parkinson’s last February) – thank goodness writing is a job best done at home, alone – and then I manage to get a light dose of COVID the month after she’s gone, and then The Real Deal in June. If what I had in June is “lighter” than the Original, I have no desire to meet that. And I was fully vaxxed.

Very sorry you caught the crud and hope you improve soon. I know several unrelated people who’ve recently returned from European trips with covid as an unwelcome hitchhiker. It may well be due to variant(s) we’re not used to. Get well.

I had this crappy cough for weeks even when I was recovered from covid. Sometimes I need to make phone calls at work and I trying to put them off for as long as possible so I wouldn’t deafen someone with a coughing fit

Me, too. I’ve had ALL the shots, took all the precautions for two years, got sick, tested positive, took all the drugs and still I feel like crap. Good excuse to lie inbed and read lots of books, I guess.

Also, never noticed any mention of you chatting to Adrian & M.J. on FanFiAddict. Have you thought about having your own YouTube channel, Chuck?
