We got dump-a-dumped on this past weekend — a hellacious blizzardo loco that diarrheaed about 25-30 inches of snow upon us. And so a wintry macro seemed apt, because looking at snow down to the micro flakey level is much nicer than staring at a snowstorm punching you in the face. (Though the snow outside is quite pretty, I’ll admit.)
ANYWAY.
Macro Monday, please to enjoy this Darling Little Snowflake.

Snow is always pretty from the perspective of a snow day, or better yet, a job you can do from inside your own window. Did you shovel your way to the writing shed yet?

Snow days are for hot stew, cookie baking, and playing with the very short person. Have a good day.

This is a great composition! I like how you kept some of the foreground out of focus to really highlight the single snowflake in focus.

Heavy duty weather… always makes me wonder about the animals outside, homeless folks, people with young kids or needing to get to a doctor. Just more reasons why ignorance is bliss.

Absolutely gorgeous, but I grew up south of Lake Ontario and know how much snow for how long and for how cold you gotta have to get a flake that big. I love California.

At the very least this deserves to make the cover of SNOWFLAKE MONTHLY – reportedly one of the worlds most unique publications.

This photo pushes all kinds of awesome buttons – I am in love with that little baby star-flake. 8D
Hope the snow is easing for you now though (y’can have too much of a good thing, after all… ) UK-Land is scheduled to receive the leftovers of Jonas today, but we will be sampling it in the form of torrential rain instead of snow, apparently. How very British for us!

I live up in Salem, MA. Last year, we got 10 feet of snow dumped on us in five to six day intervals with no melting in between. Talk about getting punched in the face with snow. Hell is filled with snow piles that need to be moved to make room for making new snow piles, which is what our snow days devolved into. That and ice dams. Lots of ice dams in hell, too. Love the macro shot. Up close, no one would ever suspect the malignant devilry that little flake is plotting. 😉
