I am the “devil” in this scenario, one supposes.
Anywho!
Updates on upcoming appearances in 3… 2… 1…
Penn State Behrend, Erie
Did you know they’re teaching Blackbirds there?
They totally are. And I’m scheduled to go speak there on diversity in writing and publishing as well as sit in on some writing classes and gender study classes. That was scheduled to be next week, but — it’s in Erie, which means I gotta drive 6 hours, and the weather’s looking mighty sketchy.
So, mark your calendars:
Now moved to April 14th-15th.
YA Lit at 92Y, April 1st
Melissa de la Cruz!
Susan Ee!
Alexandra Bracken!
And… erm, me?!
Yep, that’s right. April 1st, I’ll be in NYC to talk YA Lit with these wonderful authors.
I am told the tickets are going swiftly? So: procure now.

Lynna Landstreet says:
Oh, man – I live in Toronto, and I was jumping up and down with excitement and about to hit the registration button for this… when I checked my calendar and realized that that is the ONE weekend I know of this year when I will absolutely, for certain, be out of town.
*bangs head on desk repeatedly*
Come back and visit us again sometime in the future when I’m actually here? Please?

Ian Rose says:
I find your continued lack of Northwest visits disturbing. Come to Portland. We have a few great whiskey bars and also Powell’s. Red rover red rover.

Someone wants to get me there, I’m there! (Any conventions? Conferences? etc?)

February 27, 2014 — 12:48 PM
Ian Rose says:
Not as many conferences as I would like. The biggest is probably Wordstock, but that won’t happen again until March 2015. Powell’s does a ton of writer events, but unfortunately I’m out of the loop on how to set them up or who to contact, so I’m actually no real help at all.

Gina X. Grant says:
The sweet, gentle writers of romance in Toronto are all jockeying for who gets to pick you up at the airport. It may come to blows–not unlike a hockey game!

HEY GRAND CANADIA IS ANOTHER COUNTRY, PAL.
Also, I totally did Australia last year. 🙂
Want to do London, for sure. But very expensive, so — need to make that really count.

Lynne Ryder says:
There is a delightful lack of polar vortexes in Florida, possibly a result of the permanent vapor cloud formed over landfills from decaying adult diapers. Anyhoo, would be a good place to conduct your own private workshops. On the beach. Fresh oranges. Sunshine. Here’s a thought: Key West. It’s weirdly, irresistibly profane and wonderful, as are you. Come on Chuck!
Seriously. Do it.

Lynne:
It is my hope to do a Florida tour, given that the third Miriam book takes place there! But time (and $$) are tricky business.

Is the Penn State thing open to the public or students only? I live a very do-able distance from Erie!
February 27, 2014 — 7:36 PM

Sweet! Then I will aim to be there 🙂

MB Partlow says:
You’re all welcome to come visit with him here in Colorado! Conference info: http://www.pikespeakwriters.com/ppwc/. Not only do we have grown men fighting over who gets to pick him up at the airport, we convinced the conference hotel bar to name a drink after him. Not saying that was the deciding factor in getting him here, but it sure didn’t hurt. (P.S. Gail Carriger’s drink will, of course, come with a tiny parasol.)
