I started a Tonx Coffee subscription because —
Well, because Tonx Coffee roasts deliriously amazing coffee.
A wide variety. Delivered every two weeks.
Perfect for you folks who followed my Chemex advice from a few weeks ago.
Anyway, if you wanna check out Tonx, they gave me a referral link (and with full disclosure, I get some kinda awesome swag if these references take root — like, maybe a coffee mug, and also a magic pony that shits out mystical coffee beans), and that link is right here: CLICK THIS MYSTERIOUS LINK.
Seriously amazing coffee.
If not them, then try La Colombe. Because, whoa.

Your UK readers might be interested to know there’s a company called beanandground.co.uk that do the same sort of thing. A subscription gets you two kinds of coffee every month, randomly picked from all over the world. It’s good shit too.
I don’t work for them and they’re not paying me to say this, I’m just a happy customer.

That second link goes to the same post than the first link. Might want to edit that 🙂

Another alternative for UK readers is HR Higgins (hrhiggins.co.uk). They’re a small family business, nice people who roast their own coffee and blend their own tea. I’m theirs for life. PS I don’t work for them and they don’t pay me, I pay them.

Speaking of La Colombe – chatted with Todd out there and they will be selling unroasted beans in the coming months. They’re hammering out their system and model for distribution to home-roasters, and hope to have something in place late in the first quarter. Wootwoot!

I should make a note that you can — and should — get a free sample from Tonx, ’cause they’ll totally send you one. Did I mention: free?

The best coffee I ever tasted in my whole life was the Blue Mountain variety from Hawaii. I was stupid and only brought home one packet with me, so when it ran out I was in mourning FOR MONTHS. Any company that can get me secret, mystical access to it will win my undying devotion. 🙂

Blue Mountain is actually from Jamaica — Kona is from Hawaii. Though Kona is pretty amazing.

I was on the Gevalia train for years. That was before the coffee boom. I’ll check it out!

Tonx is great! Also, these guys: Counter Culture Coffee. I get them for a special treat during the holidays and they are also fair-trade.
