Flash Fiction Challenge: Choose A Title And Go
An easy one. I’m giving you ten random titles chosen from various random generators about ye olde internet — pick one, let that be the title of your new story. Any genre will do, list at the bottom of the post.
Length: ~1000 words
Due by: Friday, March 2nd, 2018
Post at your online space, link back here.
(Note: I’ll be at ECCC next week, and so there won’t be a flash fic challenge.)
The Titles
1. The Laughing Man
2. Voyagers in Flame
3. The History of Courage
4. Blue Serpent
5. Smooth Silk
6. The Princess’ Game
7. Ten Circuses
8. The Frozen Rat’s Foot
9. Into the Raw
10. The Leviathan in the Fog

#8: The Frozen Rat’s Foot
I already had an idea, and my random title just helped me find the ending. I hope you enjoy this haunting story inspired by David Bowie’s song “Ashes to Ashes.”

February 24, 2018 @ 11:08 AM

Blue Serpent
I liked the name
I really like the short story challenges, as it’s good external stimulus when you’re in a funk.
PS thanks for all your work over the years Chuck, it makes the day worth it.

You’re allowed to use the title you saw 🙂 It’s a prompt, not a contest!
February 25, 2018 @ 11:28 PM
Truth be told, I wrote this a couple of weeks back. But one of your titles fits the story very well, so here it is! Enjoy!
