Well, he has once more returned from the briar and he has given me not one blurb but, in fact,\u00a0<em>several<\/em> of them. In fact, he blurbed the book while drinking whisky, and so the blurbs&#8230; they sort of degenerate quickly. He has posted the results of this drunken blurbing <a href=\"http:\/\/scottsigler.com\/2015\/06\/03\/drunken-blurbs-chuck-wendigs-zeroes\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>for all to behold<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. I laughed so hard at this until I realized\u00a0the one about pooping might accidentally\u00a0make it onto the book. *hurriedly emails the editor*<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 (Fine, jeez, if you want the actual blurb, I think this is the one you want:\u00a0\u201c<strong>ZER\u00d8ES<\/strong> turns ones and zeroes into pure gold \u2014 Wendig hacks the action thriller.\u201d\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<em>Scott Sigler, New York Times best-selling author.<\/em>\u00a0Thanks to Scott, who rules.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 As a sidenote, while he was reading\u00a0<strong>ZER0ES\u00a0<\/strong>on the plane ride into Phoenix ComicCon, I was coincidentally reading his newest,\u00a0<strong>ALIVE<\/strong> &#8212; a head-trip YA thriller about a group of teens who wake up in coffins in a strange place and have to survive and figure out what the unmerciful crap\u00a0is going on. It&#8217;s weird and awesome. I like to think of it as\u00a0<strong>LORD OF THE FLIES<\/strong>\u00a0mashed up with\u00a0<strong>HELLRAISER<\/strong>. That comes out later this month so <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1KGgXFo\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>go make with the grabby-grabby<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<em>Also<\/em> speaking of Herr Doktor Sigler, he recorded a podcast whilst at PHXCC with me and Delilah S. Dawson, and the three of us sit and chitter-chatter about being YA authors who also sometimes say really inappropriate things in public and in our books and oops is that bad? I&#8217;ll drop a link to the podcast when it emerges from the Internet the way Godzilla emerges from the briny sea.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Storybundle<\/strong>! Determine how much of that price goes toward bundler, author, and charity. <a href=\"https:\/\/storybundle.com\/writing\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>You&#8217;ve got less than 24 hours left on the clock to nab it<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Atlanta Burns<\/strong> is on sale at Amazon <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1G8I8ZP\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>along with a whoa-dang host of other great YA books<\/strong><\/span><\/a> &#8212; Gwenda Bond&#8217;s <strong>Girl on a Wire<\/strong>, Sarah Fine&#8217;s <strong>Sanctum<\/strong> series, Christina Farley&#8217;s <strong>Gilded<\/strong> series, and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Fantasy Faction&#8217;s Dan Hanks did a <a href=\"http:\/\/fantasy-faction.com\/2015\/under-the-empyrean-sky-by-chuck-wendig\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>very kind review of Under the Empyrean Sky<\/strong><\/span><\/a> &#8212; you can read the whole review here, but if you&#8217;re looking for a snippet: &#8220;<em>Under the Empyrean Sky<\/em>\u00a0is that most wondrous of things \u2013 an intimate tale, set against an epic backdrop that leaves you feeling as though you\u2019ve experienced a story far grander than the words on the page actually convey. In that respect,\u00a0<em>Star Wars: Aftermath<\/em>\u00a0is in great hands. And as for\u00a0<em>The Heartland Trilogy<\/em>, I absolutely can\u2019t wait to see what happens next.&#8221; You can nab the first Heartland book <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1QsA07Y\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>right here<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Some folks have said that I should talk more about the books I blurb on here, and to that end I totally agree, so let&#8217;s do that, yeah? I blurbed three books that landed very recently&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Peter Clines: <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1G8K9Fp\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Fold<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. \u201c<i>The Fold\u00a0<\/i>is that rare thriller that always keeps just one step ahead of the reader\u2026a crackling, electric read.\u201d A group of scientists find a way to bend space and create a teleportation channel, except, oops, they don&#8217;t know how they did it and hilarity I MEAN TERROR swiftly ensues. The third act is gonzo amazing good times.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Eva Darrows (aka Hilary Monahan): <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1QsBwXB\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Awesome<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. &#8220;Hilarious and twisted, this is one bad-ass jump-kick of a book. Moveover Buffy, because monster hunter Maggie Cunningham is in town.&#8221; If you want to meet the little sister of Miriam Black, this is probably your book. A sex-positive, ass-kicking YA heroine? Check the book out. (Also one of those rare books that tries to be funny and actually does it.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Richard Thomas: <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1JsNpMS\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Disintegration<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. &#8220;Sweet hot hell, Richard Thomas writes like a man possessed, a man on fire, a guy with a gun to his head. And you\u2019ll read\u00a0<em>Disintegration<\/em>\u00a0like there\u2019s a gun to yours, too. It\u2019s a twisted masterpiece.&#8221; This is just a fucked up book, folks. Like, in the best way possible. Noir thriller. Go grabby. It&#8217;s like, $2.99, to boot.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Last but not least, hey, I&#8217;m going to San Diego Comic-con! I&#8217;m doing one panel there that&#8217;s some kind of [edit: secret thing].
