It’s a great time to be a writer and a storyteller.<\/p>\n
It’s not the easiest<\/em> time, no.<\/p>\n But it is a great time, just the same.<\/p>\n We have more options than ever.<\/p>\n The Internet has given us tools and connectedness.<\/p>\n Our stories can travel lickety-split with the click of a mouse or the swipe of a finger.<\/p>\n We can connect with other creators and collaborate.<\/p>\n The audience can collaborate with us.<\/p>\n We can publish big, small, or by ourselves.<\/p>\n We have artists and editors and audio techs all within digital reach.<\/p>\n The crowd can fund our efforts.<\/p>\n The web can push them out to millions.<\/p>\n Word-of-mouth carries our signal to circles overlapping circles overlapping circles — many pebbles thrown, infinite ripples colliding, a creative chaos theory given life and form.<\/p>\n None of this is simple.<\/p>\n All of it takes work.<\/p>\n The level of work we have to do is greater — and there remains oh-so-much to learn.<\/p>\n But while the key is heavy and the lock is stubborn, the door that it opens is profound.<\/p>\n It’s a great time to be a writer and a storyteller.<\/p>\n Go write.<\/p>\n Go tell stories.<\/p>\n Go and find your audience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Happy Memorial Day, y’all.
