The story is visceral and gripping and kept me reading  straight through. I hate to call up the connotations of a \u201cpage turner,\u201d  as I have some distinctly non-stellar examples in my own head, but I  honestly hated to put this one down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.andrewjackwriting.com\/2012\/04\/book-review-blackbirds-by-chuck-wendig\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewjackwriting.com\/2012\/04\/book-review-blackbirds-by-chuck-wendig\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>From Andrew Jack<\/strong><\/span><\/a>: &#8220;If you want the short version of this review, then here it is: I loved <strong>Blackbirds<em><\/em><em><\/em><\/strong><em><strong><em><\/em>.<\/strong><\/em> I loved it as much as any other Urban Fantasy I\u2019ve ever read, which, considering my almost inappropriate love of <strong>The Dresden Files<\/strong> is saying a lot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/cupcakeonbooks.blogspot.com\/2012\/04\/blackbirds.html\" href=\"http:\/\/cupcakeonbooks.blogspot.com\/2012\/04\/blackbirds.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>From Cupcake&#8217;s Cupboard<\/strong><\/span><\/a>: &#8220;<strong>Blackbirds<\/strong>, a rough, unflinching suspense tale from Chuck Wendig, introduces us to Miriam and the torture of knowing how people die, yet being powerless to stop it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/theguildedearlobe.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/23\/audiobook-review-blackbirds-by-chuck-wendig\/\" href=\"http:\/\/theguildedearlobe.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/23\/audiobook-review-blackbirds-by-chuck-wendig\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>From The Guilded Earlobe<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, a review of the audiobook: &#8220;In <strong>Blackbirds<\/strong>, Chuck Wendig has created a character who should be wearing a T-Shirt that says, &#8216;Spoiler Warning.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>EDIT:<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m told that SFX is giving the book a 4\/5, saying, &#8220;Think <em>Six Feet Under<\/em> as written by Stephen King and Chuck Palahniuk.&#8221; So, that&#8217;s pretty sweet!
