I was brought here after googling “turtle penis.” My boyfriend has a very large and intimidating TURTLE. I was sitting on the couch while my boyfriend was at work writing a paper, when I look over at Bruce (the turtle) to see some terrifying, purple/grey thing over 8 inches in length near his tail. I couldn’t figure out what was happening until he retracted it. (Now he is floating in his tank staring at me.) Agh!

I am one of those users who got here searching “turtle penis.” Unfortunately it’s not as exciting as you’d think. I have a box turtle as a pet. Every now and then, he will get into his water dish and, well, his organ will make an appearance. It was alarming the first time I saw it, but now I just find it fascinating. The thing is proportionally huge, multi-colored, and shaped like a daffodil. Turns out our little tortoise is not the only animal who is so endowed.

Oh, Chuck. Stop. You like it. You enjoy the bizarre, the garish, the traffic accident, large or microscopic. Then you enlarge it to macro size for the rest of us to enjoy. You dig it.

We all do.

In some fashion, terrible minds gets to be a minor nexus for folk who, unbeknownst to them, have a bit of a traffic accident inside themselves. It peeks out in their Google searches and you get to peek at it.

This post is like the spider picture, or the mantis one. Revulsion, confusion, wonder and a healthy helping of “WTF?” but small, 1 or 2 searches, which you have macro’ed to share the beauty.

So, thanks for that. And I feel a bit dirty, now.

I think it’s probably your way with profanity. Over on shawntionary, mine are mostly pretty boring and related to the comic. That said, I did get “steampunk elves literacy” once, which amused me to no end. Because I hear the literacy rates among steampunk elves is pretty horrible.
