(My mind is boggled by how many times I’ve seen extremely talented people do this over and over and over no matter how much their friends harass them and tell them, no really, go back and f’ing finish that first thing you were working on!)

Great post as usual! Before you try to have more than one project running, first must learn to finish one! Heh. And as you said, discipline and creating schedules for when to work on things is a big help. You get in a groove!

I try and only work on, at most, two different projects in one day, and then only when I really need to get ‘em both done. I much prefer working on one thing at a time.

Blog fits in “Other.” Or, if you prefer, “Miscellaneous Debris.”

Blogging is, for me, the cornerstone of audience building and audience communication, but really, it still comes last in the Great Cosmic Chain. I don’t blog until I do everything else. Hence why I generally write my blog posts at night, when the rest of the day is all wrapped up.

So, blog remains part of That Thing You Shouldn’t Be Writing (at least until the Primary Thing is tackled).
