Or, rather, I'm not fannish, exactly, but the Halo universe is one I can see myself returning to again and again without shame. ODST is interesting because, hey! No Master Chief! And look, a loose forensics-investigation story! Some of that really works well. Some of it less well. I'm maybe half-way through, but I can already say it's patently worth a rental.
