Yeah, the Wii is a YMMV thing, definitely. I think if my opening days with a Wii was with Sports Resort, I *might* feel differently. (I haven't played it, mind.)

Of course, I just got a Wii. I had held off forever because i knew exactly what I wanted out of it.

1) Cool swordfighting
2) Games that were as much fun to play as the Wii Sports ones that came with it, which had entirely sucked in my family and saw plenty of replay.

In the interim, good games came out of it, but they were just good games, and I have those on other platforms. But Wii Sport Resort broke my resolve, and since I'm just getting into it, the cost of the sensitivity add-on sort of got bundled into the initial price.

I'm going to try some actual fitness things - there are some cool recs, but there's no way I can use the wii fit board - but for the time being, I am getting a decent workout having extensive imaginary swordfights, and I am ok with that.

John --

Yeah, right? I look at the 360's release schedule, and I can tick off a half-dozen that baby wants.

Wii? Nooooot so much.

I liked Wii Fit in theory. But it didn't really suit my exercise needs. Plus, it wasn't exactly... er, encouraging. (Actually, Wii Fit was downright depressing, sometimes.)

And, in the end, I wasn't losing any weight. Or feeling improved, health-wise.

Man, the Wii Fit is the whole reason I have a Wii, or for that matter any video game console. But then, the last console I owned was a Playstation. 1.

Yeah, it does sound like it isn't for you!

My tall (6'3" or so, with size 13 feet) husband was able to use the balance board, but it was a close thing, and slightly awkward at times.

I definitely think some of the other fitness programs now available got it all over the wii fit. Gold's Gym Cardio is surprisingly good, and it'll even incorporate the balance board into your workout if you want it to. My Fitness Coach is only going to work if you have enough room in front of your TV to get fairly... uh, energetic... but on the plus side, it does full workouts, without having to break between exercises. But those would only solve some of your problems. The wii works for me for working out because I'm short; it doesn't work for my husband because there just isn't enough room for him to do all the exercises in the TV room (anything that requires him to lift his arms straight overhead is right out!).

The offerings for the wii are definitely limited in scope. I think it's one of those things where either they're the kind of thing you'll enjoy & be happy playing, or... they'll get old fast.

I have the exact same problem, where apart from the virtual console where I can play old NES games on it, I'm having a hard time finding stuff to play.

Where as on the 360, I can name 5 games I want right now but have no money for. :/

Shh! Don't tell *them* that. We can't have the robots learning how we discover them!

Army of Darkness is different.

Not liking it is not acceptable. Or at least, it's acceptable, but it's a benchmark for a person who I probably shouldn't be talking with.

They're probably a robot.

And an uncool one at that.
